Michiko is a commercial lawyer with a focus on supply chain related commercial contracts and regulations. Before joining the firm in July 2021, she trained and worked at the London offices of two large international law firms for over 15 years in total, during which time she was ranked in the “Rising Stars” section of The Legal 500 UK 2020 (London, Commercial contracts), mentioned in The Legal 500 UK 2020 and 2019, and worked within a team which was ranked Tier 1 in Commercial contracts (The Legal 500 UK 2017 – 2020, London) and Retail and Consumer (Legal 500 UK 2021, London).
Michiko assists clients with both transactional and regulatory matters involving supply chains including new product / service launches in the EU/UK and has experience in working with enforcement authorities on notifications and corrective actions. Her experience in private practice has been predominantly in advising global household names and businesses which operate in multiple jurisdictions on their businesses in the EU and/or UK.
Her specialisms include commercial contracts, consumer contracts, e-commerce, consumer law, product safety and compliance, food law, advertising / sales promotion rules and payment-related contracts and regulations (including payment services and e-money).
Michiko has over 10 years’ experience as a speaker and, in recent years, as a moderator of panel discussions at international and UK conferences (mostly in the areas of product safety or consumer law). She has taught consumer law at the annual European Commercial Law Summer School for 5 years and her latest article has been published in PLC Magazine (October 2020).
